September 7 (Sunday): I arrive by ferry to Igoumenitsa, Greece. Since it’s a weekend, it’s better not to go to the Albanian border right away, so I’ll head to Turkey (about 700 km). Hopefully on Monday, September 8, I can activate as TA1/EA8DBM.
September 8–10: The Moon is low (1.8° to 14° above the horizon), but there’s no other option.
September 10 (Wednesday, midday): Pack up and rush back through Greece to the Albanian border, so that on Thursday, September 11, I can cross in the morning, drive 3 hours to Tirana to pick up the license, then another 3 hours south to Saranda. Moonrise around 21:00 — if all goes well and I still have energy, I’ll try to set up.
September 12 (Friday): Active on 23 cm. as ZA/LY3UM
September 13 (Saturday): ARRL EME Contest on 13 cm+. I’ll be on this band; since activity is low, I’ll likely switch back to 23 cm afterwards.
September 15 (Monday): Last day of activity. After lunch I’ll leave for Greece to catch the 4 a.m. ferry from Igoumenitsa to Venice.
September 18 (Thursday): Arrive in Prague, and on Friday, September 19, I hope to meet the OK EME community and share the best Czech beer in the world!
